On a cold winter morning, a fluffy white dog was curled up on a soft rug beside the fireplace. The flames crackled gently, filling the cozy living room with warm golden light.

The dog was sleeping so peacefully that even a thunderstorm probably could not wake him.

But someone else had a different plan.

From behind the sofa, a tiny white kitten quietly appeared. She tiptoed across the room, climbed onto the rug, and gently tapped the dog’s cheek with one little paw.

“Wake up!” her determined face seemed to say. “It’s time to play!”

The dog did not move.

The kitten tapped him again.

Still nothing.

Finally, she leaned forward and rubbed her head against his face. The dog slowly opened one eye, looking confused about why his peaceful nap had suddenly been interrupted by a walking ball of fur.

The kitten happily touched her nose to his. Then she rubbed her cheek against his face and gave him several tiny nose kisses.

The sleepy dog sighed, lifted one front leg, and gently wrapped it around the kitten.

The kitten had successfully completed her mission. Her best friend was finally awake.

Unfortunately, the warm fireplace, the soft rug, and the dog’s fluffy chest were far too comfortable.

Within seconds, the kitten forgot all about playing. She curled up in the dog’s arms and closed her eyes.

The dog looked down at her, rested his head back on the rug, and went straight back to sleep.

The kitten had arrived to become an alarm clock.

Instead, she became an extra pillow.
